All race gear MUST be stowed neatly under your bike space or adjacent to it. You must know the course and flow of traffic in the Transition area.
Swim Cap:
No Swim Caps will be required.
Wetsuits:
Wetsuits will Not be permitted for this race. Very warm in the pool building. Swim Start:
The swim will start with one swimmer per lane (2 lanes will have 2 swimmers per lane) Swimmers will enter the pool at one end, swim 19 LENGTHS and leave the pool at the other end. When the lane counter sees a swimmer leaving the pool they will raise their flag indicating the lane is open and the next swimmer will go to that lane.
Estimated Swim Start Information:
Each participant will have "one" and only "one" opportunity to change their estimated swim time by April 1, 2008. The race directors and timing company will not have time to change everyone's estimated times more than once. We suggest going to a local pool and timing yourself for 19 lengths of the pool (475 yards) at your race pace and using that as your estimate. Therefore, no one will be allowed to change their swim time after April 1 and you can only change it once! Please e-mail at: westdeptfordtriathlonassoc.org to update your swim time. If your swim time during the event does not meet or exceed your estimate – you will receive a 2 minute penalty for the race. Faster swimmers will be seeded first.
Bike Course:
The bike course consists of a 14.5 mile loop… starting and ending at the RiverWinds. To see a map and more detailed information click here
Run Course:
The run course is an “out-and-back” 5k for both the tri and the du. An aid station will be provided at mile 1.5 providing cold Gatoraide/PowerAide/Hammer Head and water. Please don’t throw cups on the ground but try to throw them in the trash cans. To see a map and more detailed information click here Race Finish:

If you drop out of the race for any reason, it is imperative that you notify a race official immediately and return your Winning Time band to an official and ask them to return it to the Finish line area Staff. For your safety, always check with the medical tent before you leave the area.
Timing and Results:
Official race results will be posted prior to the Awards presentation. Please report any discrepancy to a race official PRIOR to the start of the awards presentation. Full results and splits will be available on our web site at www.westdeptfordtriathlonassoc.org.
Medical:
The race provides comprehensive medical care for all official participants during the event. The medical team (ambulance) is prepared to treat for dehydration, minor injuries, and will assist emergency medical services in transporting athletes with any major injuries to the Underwood Memorial Hospital. The biggest risk to athletes is the potential of heat-related injuries due to inadequate hydration prior to and during the event. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids throughout the race weekend and during the race.
